Introducing the Players

Welcome to 'Boyz in the Kitchen', our new blog where we will share our adventures with food. We will be buying, cooking and eating many new things as a way to expand our children's palates and culinary skills. At the very least we will have some messy fun! 

Here are the Boyz in their natural habitat. We have our work cut out for us!

The Boyz have two older sisters who may make occasional appearances here. At their ages it is no longer fun to cook with Mom. 

This is Ashley, age 16, and a very good cook herself. She made pumpkin pie all by herself at the age of nine and it was GOOD!

Kaytee, age 18 and a college freshman is learning that she should have paid attention to Mom's cooking because now she is HUNGRY and has to cook for herself. 

Introducing the Dad (who happens to have a lap full of Buster the Boxer puppy). He is easy-going, un-flappable and patient to the n-th degree. Great qualities to have with 5 kids! He also eats just about anything except veggies. We are working on that.

And finally me, Wendy, aka Mom. Not so patient, prone to rants, passionate about kids and love, love, love to cook. Hence the reason you get a small tight head shot. The rest of my body tells on my love of cooking.....and eating! 

And so begins our adventure. Feel free to travel along with us. We will discuss each recipe or food item, tell you how it was received by each adventurer and include prep tips and such. Some will be loved, others hated. Some may go straight to the trashcan! There is a lot of fun in store!
